Study On Fluctuation Of Domestic Road Freight Rate And Railway Freight Pricing

In the market competition environment,it is importatnt for transport enterprises to analysis the competitor's product and their price strategy,which plays a significant role in the process of setting price strategy and adjusting the price level.Nowadays the transportation market has dominated by road freight according to the transportation volume and the turnover.As the deregulation of self price-setting on railway transport enterprise and the further expansion of transport market,railway transport enterprise begin to attach importance to the factors of road freight rate when setting and implementing price strategy.Therefore,study on the characteristics of road freight rate,fluctuations and operating conditions will help to grasp the market trend of the transport market,optimize the railway freight pricing plans,and promote the level of rail freight rate closer to the market.Basic characteristics and fluctuation rules of road freight rate are analyzed in this paper from the perspective of supporting pricing strategies for rail freight,and statistical and econometric theoretical methods are used based on theories relevant to competition and price fluctuation.In response to the railway freight price strategy,related recommendations are made.Firstly,the article reviews the former reseach about three aspects,including road freight rate,the strategy of rail freight rate and price fluctuation rules after describing the research background,importance and the theoretical basis are also discussed.Secondly,current structure,level of rail freight and the price linkages between railway and road are analyzed,through which it suggests that when implement pricing descision,railway companies should take account of the impacts of alternative transportation in entire transport market.Thirdly,the trend and seasonal characteristics of road freight price on typical routes are analyzed,and the fluctuation trends and seasonal changes of different transportation corridors,lines,distances and directions are summarized according to the road freight rate fluctuation.Fourthly,qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of the total fluctuations of China road freight rate is done in this part by seasonal adjustment methods and HP filtering methods are used,by which means factors,irregular factors,trend factors.et may be identified.Finally,three suggestions for railway freight pricing strategy are proposed based on competition-based pricing according to the characteristics of typical routes and overall fluctuations of road freight prices,including to establish differentiated freight pricing strategies,to mine and take advantage of freight rate information reasonably and to simplify the structure of rail freight rate.
