Along with social progress and economic development,people's demand for spiritual culture has increased with time.With the rise of the tertiary industry,tourism has gradually become an important support for economic income.Tourism souvenirs,as income-generating pillar project of the tourism industry,account for 65% of tourist purchase income.Tourist souvenirs are a symbol of a region,so integrating regional symbols into souvenirs is the value that souvenirs should embody.As a leading tourist attraction in Weihai,Liugong Island is not only charming in natural scene,but also attracts tourists because of its profound historical and cultural backgrounds of the Sino-Japanese Naval War and the unique local cultural elements.However,the tourist souvenir market of Liugong Island does not match its developed tourist resources,so design tourist souvenirs of Liugong Island and enhance the quality are of practical significance and value to the development of tourism industry on Liugong Island.In this paper,the author uses semiotic theory to analyze and sort out the regional culture of Liugong Island and extracts the cultural symbols unique to Liugong Island.The cultural symbol is the carrier of substance.The process of symbolizing the Liugong Island culture is the process of materializing the human spiritual needs and cultural needs.In this article,the author conducts field research on the status of Liugong Island's tourist souvenirs market,draws conclusions and points for improvement,and analyzes the transformation of Liugong Island tourist souvenirs from the perspective of semiotics.Through the refinement,transformation,and materialization of Liugong Island cultural symbols.The author providing a design inspiration to the development of tourist souvenirs of Liugong Island.
