Crack sealants is one of the most commonly used materials for road maintenance.At present,there are many kinds of filling materials in the market,and the performance of the products is not the same,together with non-standard construction and climate differences,etc.Many products will fail after one year of use,which can not effectively restrain the development of cracks,causing more serious damage to the pavement,such as cracks,potholes and water damage,etc.increases highway maintenance cost and reduces the service life of roads.In this paper,referring to the relevant domestic specifications and combined with the climate characteristics of Hebei Province,a high performance crack sealants adhesive suitable for the pavement condition of Hebei Province was developed,and its performance indexes are all good.Through the asphalt modification process,the preparation process of the crack sealants adhesive was summarized,and the addition order of modifier was determined,compatible methods and reaction times.The types and specifications of some modifiers were determined by studying the mechanism and effect of modification.The optimum performance ratio was obtained by using orthogonal test,the final ratio was determined by the range analysis method,two kinds of cold and low temperature types are obtained,which are suitable for different areas of Hebei Province.In order to verify the engineering performance of the developed crack sealants,the crack of asphalt pavement was repaired in a high-speed section in Hebei Province,and refer to the comparison with two other brands of the crack sealants at the same time.The results show that the crack sealants has good properties of high temperature,flexibility at low temperature,elasticity and self-healing.
