Recently,prefabricated buildings in China have entered a stage of overall development regard to city.However,the development of prefabricated building is diverse among different cities in our country.The prefabricated building in some cities developed rapidly,while other cities has many challenges for promotion of prefabricated building such as incremental cost,the maintenance of daily production,difficult to form scale effect.The main causes of the imbalance development of prefabricated building among different city is the differences in the supporting environment which consists of economic environment,market environment and other factors in a city.The recent researches have not conducted quantitative study on the supporting environment of prefabricated building development from the perspective of city.Therefore,this study aims to evaluates the level of urban supporting environment in the development of prefabricated building by integrating quantitative and qualitative methods.The result of this study can help city official make planning for the development of prefabricated building.First of all,this study tastes out the concept of prefabricated building and urban supporting environment.Based on this,the definition of urban supporting environment of prefabricated building is put forward.Then this study establishes the theoretical basis by refining the background and characteristic of prefabricated building based on literatures.Additionally,this study identifies the key influence factors of urban supporting environment of prefabricated building.An indicator system is established by referring to these key factors.Furthermore,this study compares different evaluation methods and builds the BP-DEMATEL-ANP evaluation model.The indicator data from fifty cities is collected and the BP-DEMATEL-ANP evaluation model are applied to evaluate different dimensions and overall performance of urban supporting environment.Finally,based on the evaluation results,some advices are put forward to improve the urban supporting environment of prefabricated building.The research shows that the proposed BP-DEMATEL-ANP evaluation model can manage the difficult in constructing judgement matrix in the complicated system.It also can be found that most of pilot demonstration cities in China have better performance than un-pilot cities.Few pilot demonstration cities have low level of supporting environment but have better performance in prefabricated buildings because they have leading companies and superior resources.
