China has kept investing in construction engineering and makes it speed up.Besides the construction quality and construction schedule,the project cost is also one of the most important factors in construction engineering.The effective control of project cost plays an increasingly important role in project construction.So it's necessary to have a further research for project cost.In China,the project cost started late.So its management of project cost is behind the international standards,especially in the field of cost index.As the project cost index plays a key role in the cost management,this article is mainly talking about the practical use of project cost index,based on the results achieved by China and foreign countries.This article talks about the research status of project cost index at home and abroad.Based on the theories of the project cost index and the study of the present index model,I analyzed the practical data with Grubbs method by taking the normative projects and mature projects as main examples,so as to build up a perfect cost index system.With the prediction model,we can predict the practical projects,and make the cost index fully works.This research can not only provide reference and reference for the construction cost index and index field of residential projects in Guangzhou,but also provide identifiable ground for taking the project cost system further.
