In recent years,along with the deepening of national strategy of the Yangtze River economic belt,the Yangtze River shipping industry is experiencing a new booming opportunity.The wide-flat river-sea going ships are known for excellent performance in transportation between river and sea,which can be designed according to different routes and capacities to meet the various needs of the market.In addition,there are some drawbacks in the stage of ship concept design,for example,relying heavily on the designers’ experiences,low reusing of knowledge and the low design efficiency.These factors are the general problems in the process of ship design and limit the improvement of design efficiencies of the wide-flat river-sea going ships.Considering the aforementioned problems,a new method of ship design which adopted two different knowledge reasoning techniques combined the Rule-based Reasoning with Case-based Reasoning is proposed.It can be solved efficiently according to different ship design requirements,thus providing the design of the wide-flat river-sea going ships with an intelligent way.The research work of this paper consists principally of the following four aspects,namely,setting up the knowledge base of the wide-flat river-sea going ships;forming the ship conceptual design method based on the RBR/CBR;establishing the comprehensive evaluation system of ship design case based on entropy weight method and AHP;developing the ship conceptual design system of the wide-flat river-sea going ships.Above all,the sources of knowledge required in the design of the wide-flat river-sea going ships were analyzed and the knowledge was classified,followed by the study of the expression ways of rule-based knowledge and case-based knowledge methods and the establishment of the knowledge base.According to the basic principles of the rule-based reasoning and case-based reasoning,the design models were constructed respectively.Finally,these two different design methods were combined to form the conceptual scheme of the wide-flat river-sea going ships based on RBR/CBR.The entropy AHP multi-objective decision theory has been adopted to the evaluation and selection of design case on the basis of comprehensive evaluation system of the wide-flat river-sea going ships,making the scheme given by the developed system meets the different requirements of technology,economy and environment etc simultaneouly.The VB.NET and SQL Server and other tools were employed to develop the scheme design system,and the visualization of the layout of container ship was researched as well.Finally,the function of every single module of the system is explained in detail,and the feasibility of the system was verified by the design of of a 900 ~ 1000 TEU container ship.
