Study On The Influence Of Construction Industrialization On Labor Productivity In Construction Industry Of China

Since 1970 s,opening to the outside world has been treated as the basic national policy of China,construction industry of China has been an unprecedented development,and the gross construction production of construction industry in recent years has been maintaining the fast growth in China.At the same time,the GDP of construction industry makes up more than one-tenth of the GDP,therefore the construction industry is the leader of Chinese economic development.However,compared to other industries,the labor production efficiency of China’s construction industry is low,and it less than a quarter of the machinery manufacturing industry.Nowadays,in order to ensure the normal production of construction industry,we use the way of improving the number of labor in the construction industry.However,with the emergence of Chinese population aging,increasing the amount of labor in the construction industry has been unable,so finding the valid method of improving labor productivity of construction industry labor productivity is so significant.In the literature reviews,we found that studies of labor productivity in the construction industry mostly on the condition of traditional way and analyze the impact of labor productivity factors,and they always ignored the quality of the construction labor force.Moreover due to the manual operation is widely used in construction process,so the degree of mechanization is low,based on this backward,so production methods are relatively less.So under this perspective to improve the construction industry labor productivity factors becomes more difficult.At the same time,the industrial construction is in the initial development,studies about the relationship between industrial construction and labor productivity of construction industry are also less.Taking into account the above problems,this paper studies the relationship between industrial construction and the labor productivity,quantifies the relationship between the industrialization of the construction industry and the labor productivity of the industry,to provide new ideas for the labor productivity research in the construction industry,and explores the factors that promote the labor productivity of the construction industry way.The labor productivity has become a considerable issue for construction industry development.Therefore it is crucial for policy-makers to look for optimized methods to measure the labor productivity in construction industry.In this paper,we use Super efficiency data envelopment analysis(SE-DEA)to measure labor productivity change of the construction industry in China from 2001 to 2015.It is found that the promotion space of labor productivity in construction industry is relatively large.Then based on Cobb-Douglas production function,we decomposed the labor productivity in construction industry into construction industrialization and capital investment,and measured the impact of these factors on labor productivity through empirical study.It shows that the main reason for the low labor productivity in construction industry is the construction groups always lie on a huge supply of cheap labor and ignore technological innovation.And the effect of construction industrialization on the labor productivity of construction industry is greater than capital investment,which can highly improve the labor productivity of China construction industry.
