Research On The Relationship Between China's Air Transportation Industry And Economic Growth

The development of China's air transportation industry started late.In the early stage of development,the air transportation capacity is low.After the localization reform of the airport in 2002,the connection between air transportation industry and national economic development is increasingly connected.On the one hand,the economic benefit generated by the air transportation industry promotes the economic growth of our country,which mainly includes the initial construction of the airport and the growth of air traffic volume and non-air traffic volume.It has contributed significantly to the growth of the national economy,attracting founds and talents,promoting international trade,raising the level of opening up to the outside world,and maintaining sustained steady economic growth.On the other hand,as the basis for the development of air transportation industry,the demand of the aviation passenger and cargo traffic volume changes,which cause the change of the air transportation industry development scale.The relationship between the air transportation industry and the national economy has revealed that we should find the path of positive interaction between the two,then realize the expansion of the air transportation industry and the improvement of profitability.Therefore,it can play its role in the efficient allocation of resources to enhance the international competitiveness of national economy.Based on the qualitative and quantitative research,this paper analyzes the interaction between China's air transportation industry and national economy.First of all,use the input-output method to analyze the influence of China's air transportation industry on national economy.Establish relevant input-output models by collecting China's 42 industrial sectors' and refinement sectors' input-output tables,and analysis air transportation's direct and indirect promotion to national economy.The second,based on the 103 civil aviation airports and their city's economic panel data from 2005 to 2014,build the general error correction model to study the short and long term relationship between national economy and airport passenger and cargo volumes.It aims to analyze the impact on air transportation development level from national economy,and put forward targeted policy recommendations to optimize China's air transportation industry layout.The result of the research on the impact of the air transportation industry on the economy shows:(1)China air transportation's direct economic effects on GDP,employment,consumption and export are increasing year by year.The direct economic impact on export far more than the export effect of ground transportation industry.(2)As for China's air transportation industry,the promotion to the forward related industry is greater than the pulling effect to the backward related industry over time,which shows that China's air transportation industry has become the mainstay of the economic restructure industries.The results of the research on the impact of the economy on the air transportation industry shows:(1)Economic development level,population,the industrial structure,degree of openness have significant positive effects on passenger and cargo transport.(2)The influence direction and size of ground transportation on air transportation have changed as time goes on,the freights of ground and air transportation gradually evolved into competing relationships.(3)As for the geographical location factor,the exists of the differences of improvement of ground transportation facilities,population distribution and topography cause different effects on the development of China's air transportation.
