Research On The Design Strategy Of Rural Boutique B&B Based On Post-Occupancy Evaluation

The tourism industry in China has gained prosperity and development along with the transformation of macroeconomic structure and the expansion of the people’s spiritual and cultural demand.As a product of combination between old nostalgia and new vernacular,Rural B&B has become a focus in the era of tourism by virtue of its unique experience,interactivity and locality.Nevertheless,there are a lot of problems emerging in the rapid development of rural B&B,such as incongruity with the surrounding environment,lack of features,imperfect function,etc.Therefore,it is essential to put forward the evaluation system for country inn from the architecture level,and explore more reasonable and scientific design strategies and ideas.The development of country inn abroad is earlier and comparatively mature,the evaluation systems completely covering all aspects have been established,and it has been proved that effect of an evaluation system on the promotion of country inn industry should not be ignored.The development of country inn at home has just started,and the relevant evaluation standards are also being gradually established and improved,which are different from those abroad due to the differences in land status,social structure,etc.,so we cannot indiscriminately imitate the research experience abroad.In the tide of domestic country inn construction,it is difficult to satisfy the development demand for current country inn market simply from the inherent perspective of architectural construction.In the face of the construction problems of the country inn,it is necessary to make transpositional consideration,and probe into the hidden places in design from the perspective of people and environment;the research on post-occupancy evaluation is to explore the planning and design problems of the country inn from the perspective of such a transpositional consideration.By taking rural B&B as the research object,this paper employs post-occupancy evaluation as the main research method.Part I introduces the background of topic selection,defines the research scope in this paper,and expounds the related research status at home and abroad,which lays a foundation for this paper.Part II is the foundation research of this paper,in which the origin,concept,types and characteristics of country inns are arranged,and the post-occupancy evaluation theory is expounded,which provides the theoretical foundation for the further research below.In Part III,the evaluation index set of the country inn is built through literature research,expert evaluation and etc.,and weight calculation is made to determine the weight value of each index.Then,ten typical country inns are used as the cases for post-occupancy evaluation from subjective and objective aspects,the feedback data is analyzed,the merits of these country inns are summarized from an architectural design level,and the common problems are reflected on.Part IV is the key point of this paper,in which the design strategy of country inn is put forward in a targeted manner according to the necessary relevance elements between the existing problems and evaluation factors,mainly discussed from four aspects,namely,the site context,architecture,facilities,and geographical features,and analyzed from the macro-,meso-and micro-perspectives,so as to provide a reference basis for the architectural design of country inn in the future.
