Urban Rainwater Garden Design Research

Recently,sudden heavy rains occured frenquently caused by global climate changes,which brings intense pressure to the urban drainage system.Urban waterlogging has become an serious problem in many regions.With fast-paced urbanization,more and more natural land is encroached by various of buildings,city roads or hardened squares,and the hardened ground lost its function of water seepage,which cause the problems of direct surface runoff and rainwater recycle.Therefore,rainwater is wasted,which brings great damage to urban ecological environment.The rainwater garden is an integrated rainwater recycle system that developmented based on modern urban design to promote rainwater infiltration and freshwater tilization.It is a new stytle of garden to optimize urban ecological environment and promote green development.The benefits of this rainwater garden include the following:Firstly,it can effectively alleviate urban waterlogging to cope with climate changes.Secondly,it can increase the utilization of fresh water and improve the present situation that the utilization of rainwater is less than 1%.Then it established a complete rainwater recycle system to solve the problems caused by the rapid loss of urban rainwater.Furthermore,it is an effective way to improve the quality of the city.Based on the study of the successful cases of rainwater garden both at home and abroad,this paper analyzes the structure of the rainwater garden.The soil texture of rainwater infiltration and rainwater harvesting is ulteriorly studied.Furthermore,the selction of rainwater storage facilities,rainwater purification facilities,rainwater infiltration facilities and their systemic construction are studied.In the process of operation and maintenance,a series of works including preventing clogging,anti-drought,anti-freeze damage,as well as long time managenmet to the plants in the garden should be done to achieve tangible results of the rainwater garden.Meanwhile,this paper summarizes that the urban rainwater garden design should fully implement the design principles of low impact development,function priority,landscape beautification,safety and durability,to improve the artistic taste of rainwater garden,and to achieve ecological and human and nature exchange,which provides guidance for urban rainwater garden design.The ways and measures of rainwater utilization are applied to the design of rainwater garden in industrial area of Jincheng City,Shanxi Province.The feasibility of rainwater garden design in urban park planning and consturction is discussed.The theory were implemented in the actual project.
