The streets are not only familiar to us,but also unfamiliar to us.We are familiar with them as we were born in there and we are grew up in there, and it is a part of our life.We are unfamiliar with the streets as modern streets and colorful residential buildings make the streets no longer be the former streets. The current streets are dispensable to us.More and more experience to us is only the travel of high-speed motor vehicles, because of lacking of walking experience,no atmosphere of life, and let alone emotional memories and street consensus. So,what kind of streets do we need and how should we rejuvenate the streets? This is a question worthy of our consideration. With the development and practice of foreign street design guides, our China has begun to pay attention to the construction of streets, and actively introduced and explored the design principles and methods of street design guidelines, and applied them to specific street reconstruction activities. However,as the current domestic street design is still in the initial stage of exploration, the guideline still lacks in-depth research on the role and value of street design. It is still relatively single in design, implementation and management, and lacks system integration. The results are also in mixed with the results of traditional terminal planning, which causedt an negative impact on the effectiveness and operability of street design. This thesis has carried out a systematic study on the guidelines for street design through the four steps of theoretical analysis, case study, comparative analysis and innovation.Firstly, with the collation of relevant data and theoretical research,we have explored the development course and characteristics of domestic and international city, street and street design guidelines. Then, regarding the street space as an operating object,an in-depth discussion was conducted on the control of street design guidelines.Through the selection of standards, ten comparatively successful typical cases were selected for comparative studies in the built-up regions of metropolises at home and abroad. The background and operational process of the project are systematically studied around the four aspects of the design philosophy, classification method, planning guidelines, and management and control of the street design guidelines. The different control elements of the guidelines are studied and summarized inductively.it provides a certain reference and reference for domestic street design in terms of operability and effectiveness.
