As an outdoor public space, the design and management of city squares not only need to serve the needs of users, but also to be rich in meaning,to consider more people's ordinary and trivial use requirements, and to make the place and people's personal life establish a strong connection..We need to think: Are people satisfied with the post-use situation of the city square? What kind of space do people really need? Is there a gap between the designer's vision and the reality after its completion? The answer to these questions is of great significance to the designer's ability to really do a good job in the design of the city square. Therefore, the research on the post-use evaluation of city square has become a realistic and urgent task..We need to think: Are people satisfied with the post-use situation of the city square? What kind of space do people really need? Is there a gap between the designer's vision and the reality after it is completed? The answers to these questions are of great significance to the designer's true ability to do urban park design. Therefore, the study of post-use evaluation of city squares has become a realistic and urgent task. This paper uses post-evaluation of the “user-city square” environmental system, and conducts research and statistical analysis on the environment of the square through interviews, questionnaires, data icons, and behavioral measurement methods and the design guidelines. This article is divided into five chapters,of which the third chapter is the core content of this article. The first chapter is the introduction part, expounds the research background, research purpose and significance, research object and research content of this paper. It provides the basic theory for further research framework of this paper. In the second chapter, under the premise of considering the operability and reality of the evaluation implementation, the research methods and procedures suitable for the research case of this article are summed up,and then the research framework is constructed in combination with the actual situation. The third chapter is based on the status quo of the research object—Nanjing Drum Tower Square.Based on the user's practical use needs and tense behavior habits, the “subjective evaluation of environmental quality” and “use of square space” are taken as The evaluation subject conducts a comprehensive evaluation of the research object.By summarizing the common characteristics of common users and professionals, and starting from behavioral psychology based on evaluating commonalities, this paper analyzes the subjective tendencies of the use of the square space. The fourth chapter proposes a proposal based on the research results of the preceding chapters, including: the spatial design pattern of urban squares and the spatial design guidelines. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, which summarizes this research. In this paper,a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods is used.Based on the user's actual needs, the user-city square environment system is evaluated after use,and a universal spatial design pattern is finally obtained. And design guidelines.
