Research On Cable Assembly Line Balance Improvement Of H Shipyard Electronic Assembly Workshop

Currently,lean production has been an advanced production way in manufacturing industry.In order to keep strong competitiveness,Chinese shipbuilding enterprises are making efforts to apply lean production into all links of shipbuilding process,hoping to achieve the aim of just-in-time production and cost reduction of lean.With wide varieties and large quantity,cable construction runs throughout the whole process of shipbuilding.Just-in-time production and on-time centralized assembling of cable are crucial to shipbuilding cycle and production efficiency of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop has a direct impact on the building schedule of whole ship.Whereas,production management of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop in many Chinese shipyards still depends on the artificial experience with lack of science,which results in low production efficiency and serious waste of resources in management workshops.It becomes the bottleneck of shipbuilding,and many shipyards attempt to change the situation and to realize lean production of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop but often do not know how to do,hence,it is of great importance to investigate how to apply the method of industrial engineering into line improvement of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop.Taking the production process of electric fitting and cable assembly in H Shipyard as the research object and combining its technological characteristics,this paper uses the work-measurement method to collect current production data of the assembly workshop through introduction of line technological process,and utilizes time study,operation analysis,waste elimination,heuristic balance and other lean tools as the measures,aiming at improving line balance,by the operation of optimizing line and eliminating bottleneck,to make the line balance better,and consequently,to improve production efficiency of the line.The research indicates that,by implementation of line balance improvement to the research object,line balance ratio of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop in H Shipyard is increased from 62.2% to 73.1%,and resources of line operation enterprises are fully used.The production efficiency is improved obviously,and the economic benefit is improved in the same time,which not only has practical significance for reducing production and operation cost of the electric fitting and cable assembly workshop,but also plays an exemplary role for shipbuilding enterprises to overall carry out the application of the method of industrial engineering.
