Research Of Post-occupancy Evaluation In Campus Outdoor Association Place

Our country is in the peak period of university campus construction,and the concept of higher education places more emphasis on the importance of outdoor association place in university campus.Therefore,it is urgent to design campus outdoor association places with users' needs.Post-occupancy evaluation has an important reference value for creating a pleasant environment and for humanized campus outdoor environment.In this study,the South Lake campus of Northeastern University is selected as the example,and the study is carried out on the Green Heart of South Lake campus,namely,the Central Park,Qiushi park,Lawn and 129 Park.Firstly,the basic situation of Northeastern University and the formation process of South Lake campus are introduced.The campus planning is introduced in terms of spatial layout,campus axis,functional partition,road system and open space.Then,investigation and summary have carried out on the Green Heart of South Lake campus from the aspects of site location,functional area,facility arrangement and landscape afforestation,which has laid the foundation for the preliminary preparatory work.Secondly,in order to achieve the correct evaluation,field visits and research about the compus Green Heart have carried out from multi-perspective and multi-level.Cognitive map method is used to understand the user's intentionality on the Green Heart of campus and four different types of behavior traces are observed in the field,such as wear trace,accumulation trace,wrong usage trace and other trace.Behavior maps,photo records and other methods are also used to observe the human activities in the field to analyze the users' activity needs and the suitability of the field for the users' behavior.Meanwhile,Interviews are used to further collect data on user's comments,attitudes and evaluations.Finally,computer simulation of campus green heart is carried out based on spatial syntax.The spatial distribution of the the Central Park,Qiushi Park,lawn and three stages of 129 Park is observed by using five variables in the visual grid method,which are Visual Integration[HH],Connectivity,Comprehensibility(R2:y= Visual Integration[HH],x=Connectivity),Visual Control and Visibility Clustering Coefficient.Then the agent robot simulation analysis is carried out to reflect the attraction of the space to users,and the results are compared with the actual observation results,so as to draw conclusions about the use,update and design of space.Through the systematic use of post-occupancy evaluation research and computer simulation research,the design of campus outdoor association place is tested objectively and scientifically.This paper discusses the design's advantages and disadvantages and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions,which is introduced as an important means of feedback to the construction of existed area and the construction of the new campus.It provides feedback and basis for creating a vibrant and people-oriented campus outdoor communication place.
