The rapid growth of global cultural creativity has opened a new chapter in the development and innovation of Chinese traditional culture.Nowadays,cultural creativity has broken out of the conventional design and production mode of traditional culture from the aspects of market and industry,effectively improving the economic efficiency and market competitiveness of traditional cultural products.Yongle Palace Mural in Shanxi province is an important part of China’s national cultural heritages.It has unique features in its style,shows superb skills of ancient Chinese and contains rich cultural connotations;however,the main forms of its inheritance are only display and publicity at present.Besides,cultural creative products based on its consumer demand are comparatively scarce.Accordingly,it is an inherent need to develop and design more cultural creative products of Yongle Palace Mural.This thesis takes Yongle Palace Mural in Shanxi province as the research object and the innovation and design practice of Yongle Palace Mural elements as the research category.By means of literature review,types,characteristics and R&D principles of cultural creative products were analyzed,and Yongle Palace Mural was researched from the views of culture,character costume,plastic art,decorative pattern and color art;on the basis of field survey and user research,the present situation of development on cultural creative products of Yongle Palace Mural and the consumer market of these products were investigated,the findings were analyzed,the concepts of cultural creative products containing Yongle Palace Mural elements were proposed,and the positioning of its cultural creative products were summarized;artistic characteristics of Yongle Palace Mural were researched,elements of Yongle Palace Mural were sifted and refined,and innovative designs about the sifted elements were created;through case analysis,design principles and methods of cultural creative products containing Yongle Palace Mural elements were summarized,and ideas about how to convert mural elements in the design of cultural creative products were proposed;on the basis of design and practice,series design and practical production of Yongle Palace Mural were carried out.According to both theoretical research and design practice,the significance of Yongle Palace Mural elements’ application in the design of cultural creative products was further explored,and the newly developed design examples were evaluated and summarized in the end.It is hoped that through deeper exploration of Yongle Palace Mural in Shanxi province,the development of local economy,culture and tourism will be promoted,creating a well-known cultural brand.
