The new urbanization development policy of ecological priority integrates the concept of ecological civilization into the whole process of urbanization.As a green corridor with both ecological and social benefits,greenway has become an important way to lead residents to low-carbon travel and ecological development of small towns.With the development of industry and the need of population growth,the construction land of small towns in the fringe of big cities is expanding rapidly which results in the separation between green space and ecological patches of towns.At the same time,the awareness of residents’ ecological protection and improvement of living environment is increasing which has become an important opportunity for greenway planning and construction.From the perspective of evaluation of greenway resource elements,the development stages of greenway at home and abroad,the theory of greenway planning and the practical cases of greenway planning in small towns are summarized.Furthermore,the development trend and research focus of greenway planning in small towns are put forward in China.Secondly,the theoretical based on the demand water network residents,the classification of greenway,the characteristics of greenway resources and the evaluation of greenway resources are summarized.It can be found that the outdoor fitness needs of small town residents are intense and lack of corresponding facilities and places;There are obvious differences of demand and activity characteristics between small town residents,residents of rural-to-urban communities,rural community residents;the plan and willingness of residents to buy private cars are weak due to economic constraints and public transport is relatively developed;the land use types of small towns in urban fringe water network are mainly farmland resulting in the lack of effective communication and association of forest patches with strong ecological service functions.It will reduce the ecological benefits.On this basis,the characteristics of green road resources and residents’ demand in Fanjiatun Town were investigated and analyzed.Meanwhile the structure characteristics of resources elements corresponding to the living circles of residents in Fanjiatun Town were summarized.Thirdly,this paper makes an empirical analysis on the greenway planning in Fanjiatun Town and constructs the evaluation index system of the resource nodes and corridors of the social service greenway and the ecologically optimized greenway based on the minimum cumulative resistance model.Through landscape structure index method and graph theory method,this paper evaluates the network structure of greenway formed by superimposition of obvious corridors and potential corridors and constructs an evaluation system of Greenway resource elements with complete structure and clear hierarchy.The natural fracture classification method is used to classify the evaluation results of resource nodes and to clarify the selection of different types of core stations,the connection mode of greenway and the greenway theme;the evaluation results of corridors guide the selec-tion of greenway lines and the development time sequence in the planning and construction of corridors;the result of network structure evaluation guides the simplification of greenway or the further strengthening of corridor connection.Finally,according to the implementation of greenway planning in small towns,the greenway planning requirements at different levels and the planning norms and guidance of greenway landscape,slow-track,traffic connection and service facilities in the greenway system are put forward.Considering the needs of small town residents,ecological optimization and ecological coordination with surrounding areas,the implementation strategy of planning is put forward.This paper summarizes the characteristics of demand of small town residents,greenway resources and their classification and forms an evaluation system of greenway resources on this basis,with a view to providing reference for the greenway planning of the same type of small town.
