In recent years,compared with the past time,because the center of gravity is shifting from increment to quality,from speed to green development,economic growth was a bit dropping.Our country is trying to promote supply-side structural reform and develop demographic dividend,which enable the economy continues to promote progress while maintaining stability.Urban agglomeration in central China is located deep in the mainland,different from these special economic zones and coastal city groups,not having advantages of geographical location and policy for open development.As a new engine of national economy revitalization,the widespread operation of high-speed railway will provide new chances for central plains cities to break the regional blockades and accelerate the flow of factors,which will promote regional economic development and eliminate the urban-rural gap.However,because of the difference of resources and development policy,the effect of high-speed railway on economic development is distinct.The research of this paper,which focus on the promoting effect on regions GDP,has a great significance for the choice of node city of high-speed railway.This thesis used theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,and teased out the related literatures firstly,knowing the research status and methodology.According to the practical situation that the opening of high-speed railway in central areas is not long and the operation is in succession,this thesis used one decade panel data of 30 cities in central China as a sample,completing the DID by the model of two-way fixed effects.After the analysis of the specific plan and situation of the high-speed railway operation and the basic condition of these cities,I divided the sample and selected the variable rationally to verify the three hypotheses in this paper,with theeffect of high-speed railway on regional economic development being analyzed by parallel trend test and counterfactual test.In the end,I made a comparison between the regression result and single differential method.Finally,this paper made a conclusion that the opening of high-speed railway can promote the GDP in these urban cities in central China,and different types of cities have different effects,which generally shows the trend of diminishing marginal benefits.Aiming at the conclusion,this thesis put forward some corresponding policy recommendations for these cities.
