Research On The Impact Of High-speed Rail On Yunnan Regional Economic Development

Yunnan Province has unique advantages in tourism and natural resources,but due to its geographical location and topography,the traffic situation of Yunnan Province has always been in a backward state.To a certain extent,this limits the improvement of the economic level of Yunnan Province.But with the opening of Guikun section of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway and Baise-Kunming section of Nankun passenger dedicated line on December 28,2016,The era of high-speed railway in Yunnan has just arrived,This will certainly have a far-reaching impact on the regional economy of Yunnan Province.The research on the influence of high-speed railway on the regional economic development of Yunnan Province can provide some reference for Yunnan Province to seize the opportunity of high-speed railway development to change the economic outlook.Based on the study of regional economy of high-speed railway at home and abroad,this paper firstly analyses the economic advantages of high-speed railway,and expounds the point-axis development theory,network development theory,transport corridor theory and growth pole theory.Then,this paper studies the impact mechanism of high-speed railway on regional economy from the perspective of positive and negative effects.The positive effects include promoting economic growth and optimizing industrial structure.The negative effects are siphon effect and impact of high-speed railway on highway passenger transport.Based on the above theoretical analysis,this paper takes the high-speed railway in Yunnan as the research object,applies the double difference model,and uses STATA software to calculate the impact of the construction and opening of high-speed railway on the regional economy of Yunnan.The results of model calculation show that the construction and operation of Yunnan high-speed railway have played a significant role in promoting the economic growth of Yunnan Province,and it has also played a positive role in the development of the tertiary industry.The industrial structure of Yunnan Province tends to be more reasonable,Employment situation is only significantly positively affected during the construction of high-speed railway,but it has a negative impact on employment in the early stage of the opening of high-speed railway.Finally,this paper summarizes the research contents of the full text,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on how to make better use of the positive effect of high-speed rail and how to avoid the negative effect of high-speed rail in Yunnan in the future.
