With the development of global economy,human activities have produced a large number of greenhouse gases,such as carbon dioxide,methane and nitrous oxide,which have caused a series of problems such as global warming.The importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions has been widely recognized by all sectors of society.Carbon dioxide emissions from construction industry account for about one third of the total carbon emissions,which is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide emissions.Based on this,this paper studies the carbon footprint of the whole life cycle of the building,and puts forward relevant carbon emission reduction countermeasures,which has a certain significance for achieving low carbon emission reduction.Based on the theory of life cycle assessment,this paper divides the whole life cycle of a building into four stages: mining and production stage of building materials,construction stage,operation and maintenance stage and demolition and disposal stage.It defines the measurement range of carbon footprint in the whole life cycle of a building and analyses the sources of carbon emissions in each stage of the whole life cycle of a building,the carbon footprint factors of energy the carbon footprint factors of steel,cement,concrete,wood and other major building materials are calculated.Based on the emission factor method,a carbon footprint measurement model for the whole life cycle of buildings is established and an empirical study is carried out.It is found that the carbon footprint of building operation and maintenance stage is the most,followed by the mining and production stage of building materials.Cement,steel and concrete are the most carbon-emitting materials in the mining and production of building materials.Based on the calculation and empirical study of the carbon footprint of the whole life cycle of buildings,this paper puts forward the relevant emission reduction measures,which can provide reference for the future development of low-carbon buildings,help to save resources and environmental protection,control greenhouse gas emissions,and alleviate the problem of global warming.
