Shipping agency industry is accompanied by the development of shipping industry.Shipping agency closely connects cargo buyers and sellers and ship owners.As an important part of international logistics,shipping agency is in charge of vessel’s loading/unloading and operation matters during port stay to expedite turn around and save owne’s logistics cost.The development of shipping agency industry is not only the promotion of the development of China’s international trade,but also the main driving force of the development of China’s transportation industry.The degree of development of shipping agency enterprises is closely related to the competitiveness level of the enterprises.If the shipping agency enterprises want to obtain lasting development,they need to improve their competitiveness level.Therefore,this paper will focus on the study of enhancing the competitiveness of shipping agency.In recent years,our government has relaxed the entry threshold for shipping agency,which leads to more and more fierce competition in the shipping agency market,and the profit space of enterprises has been compressed again and again.At the same time,under the influence of the global economic downturn,the international shipping market has been greatly affected.Even now,it has not been able to fully recover,which is undoubtedly a major development crisis for the shipping agency industry.How to keep the shianing agency enterprises in this complex market environment,to maintain a higher competitive advantage,and ensure healthy and sustainable development,is a matter of urgent need for consideration by every shipping agency enterprise.As a large port in the world,Qingdao Port possesses unique port advantages and environment.According to the nature of enterprise,there are state owned shipping agencies such as Penavico,China Shipping Agency and China Ocean Shipping Agency,private shipping agencies which rely on cargo owners and a few foreign-funded shipping agencies.Y foreign-funded shipping agency is one the shipping agencies who accessed earliest to China shipping agency market,and established branch offices in Qingdao port and other China main ports.But the enterprise’s business keeps slow moving in recent years and enters the bottleneck period,which demonstrates the general development status of foreign-funded shipping agencies.Through the competitiveness evaluation of Y foreign-funded shipping agency,it can enhance the enterprise’s competitiveness and promote benign development of our country’s shipping agency industry.Based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars,this paper gives an overview of relevant theories first,during which it elaborates the concept of international shipping agency,the scope of business,the development process of international shipping agency,the competitiveness of enterprises and the analysis model of enterprise competitiveness.Then it analyzes the general current development situation and environment of Qingdao Y foreign-funded international shipping agency,and selectively analyzes the current situation of Y foreign-funded shipping agency by using VRIO and Porter’s five-force model,and then combines the relevant literature and the actual situation of the enterprise.This paper analyzes the comprehensive evaluation index system of the competitiveness of Y foreign-funded shipping agency,determines the weight of the evaluation index,and applies the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to the Y foreign-funded shipping agency.Consequently,we draw a conclusion that the competitiveness of foreign-funded shipping agency is at the "general" level.Finally,combining with the current situation of the enterprises,it concludes to enhance the competitiveness of Y-foreign funded shipping agency from the perspective of promoting the core business ability,business expansion ability and enterprise management ability.The proposal of these constructive solutions have practical meaning and reference value for the long-term development of Y foreign-funded shipping agency.
