EPC represents a general contracting mode of engineering.The three letters of EPC are abbreviated as Engineering,Procurement and Construction.EPC integrates three stages of design,procurement and construction in engineering projects.In the 21 st century,due to its advantages of integration and efficiency,this general contracting mode shines brilliantly in the international contracting market.At present,with the increasing capacity of Chinese enterprises in infrastructure construction,EPC general contracting mode develops rapidly in China,and the momentum of the transformation from the traditional design institute to the engineering company is rising.EPC mode is used to participate in project bidding in the general contracting market.In the general contracting market,the engineering companies have greater advantages than the traditional design institutes.The organizational structure,project management and control system and personnel structure of engineering companies are different from those of traditional design institutes,which are more suitable for the EPC general contracting mode with project as the center.Although this general contracting model brings more benefits to the general contractor than before,it inevitably brings great risks to the contractor.At present,in the tide of transition from design institute to engineering company,a considerable number of design institutes have not gone smoothly under the constraints of customary ideas.Therefore,it has certain theoretical and practical significance to study the risk management of EPC project with Design Institute as the general contractor.Taking the EPC projects of Y Design Institute as an example,this paper investigates the present situation of risk management of the EPC projects,and summarizes theproblems existing in the risk management of the EPC projects of Y Design Institute:firstly,lack of a perfect risk management system;secondly,lack of risk management from the perspective of the general contractor;thirdly,lack of the organization to promote the implementation of risk management policies.In order to strengthen the risk management ability of EPC projects of Y Design Institute,the author starts from the point of view of Design Institute as contractor,takes the risk management of EPC projects as the research object,establishes the risk evaluation index system based on the risk identification of the EPC project of the Cultural & Sports Center in X County of Y Design Institute,and then determines the index weight of project risk by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),and then establishes the fuzzy evaluation.The evaluation model uses the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate the overall risk level of the project.Finally,it puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for the risk management of the EPC projects of Y Design Institute.
