The traditional village is the crystallization of the hard work and wisdom of the working people during the agricultural society in China. It is the essence of the devel opment of human civilization and natural environment for thousands of years, which i ntegrates China's spiritual culture and material culture. However, with the rapid develo pment of China's urbanization, more and more villages have disappeared, especially th e traditional villages that retain our spiritual and material cultural heritage. As a repres entative village for the revitalization of rural areas in China,Great value in the process of developing the village culture, the protection and inheritance of traditional villages cannot be delayed. This thesis studies 462 national traditional villages in the Loess Plateau, and uses spatial analysis methods such as nuclear density, nearest neighbor index, standard devi ation ellipse and spatial autocorrelation.First, use Google online map to extract village coordinates and establish it in Arcgis 10.3.The village attribute layer analyzes the sp atial and temporal evolution characteristics of the traditional villages in the region.Sec ondly, according to the specific functions played by the traditional villages in the hist orical period, the villages are divided into functional types and the spatial distribution characteristics of different types of villages are obtained. Finally, the influence of tradi tional villages is obtained. The natural geographical factors and social and human fact ors of temporal and spatial evolution and type characteristics. The findings are as foll ows:(1)The number structure of traditional villages in the Loess Plateau has imbalanc es at regional and municipal scales;the distribution of traditional villages is not balan ced in all scales, and the core-edge features are obvious and mainly distributed in fiveclusters, but with the number of traditional village approvals The increase of spatial distribution tends to be uniform;the spatial distribution of hot and cold spots in tradit ional villages has significant differences in the east and west cold, and the overall spa tial distribution characteristics of the dense western part of the east.(2)According to the social functions undertaken by traditional villages during the feudal society and the reasons for the formation of the villages, the traditional village s in the area are roughly divided into six types: farming, military, commercial, religio us commemoration, migration, and administrative type.Types have their own unique la ndscape features;different types of traditional villages present different spatial distribut ion characteristics.(3)The spatial distribution and type characteristics of traditional villages in the L oess Plateau are affected by natural geography and topography, altitude, slope direction, river distance and social and human historical origin, cultural factors and population f actors.
