Anhui Province is located in the middle of China, connecting east and west through north and south.Liu Ying, the feudal prince of Pengcheng state, moved to Jingxian County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, which made it one of the areas that flowed into Buddhism earlier.Influenced by the Buddhist communication centers in Henan,Jiangsu, and Zhejiang,Anhui Buddhism maintained a good development trend. The area between the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River had repeatedly become a battlefield, and the South and the north were divided by different regimes,so Buddhism had regional differences. As the material carrier of Buddhism,Buddhist temple architecture can not only reflect the development of Buddhism, but also has the research value of religious art. However, the destruction of Buddhist temples over the past dynasties has been severely damaged.Nowadays,a large number of exemplary ancient systems of construction activities have been destroyed, and the regional characteristics have been destroyed. Therefore,it is necessary to clarify the development track of Anhui Buddhism and carry out a systematic research on the Buddhist temple architecture in Anhui. In the academic thesis, the original time for the ancient existing Buddhist temple architectures in Anhui Province as the research object.First of all,by referring to the local prefectures and documents, starting from the time and space dimensions of the historical context and temple distribution, combing the development context of Anhui Buddhism, analyzing the characteristics of the interweaving of Buddhism and Confucianism and Taoism, the spread of Zen and Jing sect, and the unbalanced regional development Features. Then combined with the actual research and data statistics, according to these development characteristics, the characteristics of Anhui Buddhist temple architecture are analyzed.Among the factors of unbalanced regional development, find out the criteria of natural conditions, political divisions and regional culture,so as to divide the area where Anhui Buddhist temples are located into three parts: Northern, central and southern Anhui. Then, from the perspective of architecture, the regional differences of Anhui Buddhist temple architectures are analyzed according to the four aspects of site selection, layout, zoning and configuration of architectural groups,as well as the plane, facade, components and decoration of individual architectures;Among the factors of the interweaving of Buddhism and Confucianism and Taoism, and the spreading of Zen and pure sects,it discusses their influences on the Buddhist temple buildings in Anhui Province from the aspects of Buddhism culture and Confucianism and Taoism culture Ring. The regional differences of Buddhist temple architectures in Anhui are mainly reflected in the differences of temple location, layout, architectural style and detailed components caused by different natural conditions and regional culture.Specifically,in the site selection of temples, the northern plain of Anhui Province is vast, most of them are located on the urban plain, the waters in the middle of Anhui Province are abundant, most of them are close to the water system, the mountains and forests in the south of Anhui Province are extended, and the temples are often hidden in the remote mountains;in the layout, from north to south, the groups are from regular to free, from sparse to compact;in the architectural style, the single unit is from solemn official style to lively and diverse residential style;Among the detailed components, the transition from bucket arch to diagonal brace, especially the Buddhist temple architecture in southern Anhui, which is deeply influenced by Huizhou culture, has the characteristic components such as a four-dropping water roof, horsehead wall, and curved roof. The influence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism on the Buddhist temple architecture in Anhui is mainly in the configuration of architecture.Under the trend of cultural integration,on the one hand,Zen and Pure Land Sect are merged.Buddhist temples have both the Pure Land Sect's Buddhist temple and three holy temples,as well as Zen's law hall and Zen hall..on the other hand, they are also integrated with Confucianism and Taoism. The layout of Buddhist temples is diversified and their attributes tend to be diversified. In addition, influenced by the belief of Jiuhua Mountain, the construction of the hall of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in various temples in Anhui Province has set off.
