As an important pillar industry of China's national economy, the construction industry has attracted more than 55 million laborers, accounting for 7.1% of the total employment, with its low employment threshold and large market demand. It has made outstanding contributions to solving the problem of China's livelihood and employment..However,in recent years, with the gradual disappearance of the "demographic dividend" competitive advantage, and the peasant workers in the construction industry have weakened their willingness to engage in the construction industry due to poor working conditions, high labor intensity, and high risk factors in the construction industry. To the phenomenon of "labor shortage" in the construction industry across the country, this market pattern of under supply has pushed up labor costs in the construction industry, which has made it difficult for construction companies to control costs, compressed profit margins, and restricted development, thereby transforming the construction industry. The upgrade brings challenges. The construction industry must recognize the current development situation and realize the importance of labor cost management in the construction industry. Therefore, what are the favorable and unfavorable effects of rising labor costs in the construction industry on the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, and how much the impact is? This issue is worthy of our in-depth discussion. This article first analyzes the current situation of rising labor costs in China's construction industry, analyzes the supply side and demand side of the labor force in the construction industry, and concludes that the labor supply structure in the construction industry is unbalanced, and whether it is urban workers or construction workers Both continue to rise;and then use the literature review method to sort out references with strong timeliness and high relevance at home and abroad, identify the influencing factors of rising labor costs in the construction industry, and determine the final four by combining questionnaires and expert interviews. The influencing factors of the dimensions are macroeconomic factors, national policy factors, construction industry factors, and labor factors. Then, construct a structural equation model of the impact of rising labor costs on the construction industry's transformation and upgrading, collect sample data through a questionnaire, and analyze the reliability and validity of the data to test the fitness and fit of the structural equation model. The empirical analysis of the sample data shows the empirical results:(1)the rising labor cost in the construction industry has the greatestimpact on the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry in terms of labor factors, followed by the construction industry itself, national policy factors, and finally macroeconomic factors;(2)Macroeconomic factors have a significant positive correlation with the construction industry's own factors, macroeconomic factors have a significant positive correlation with the labor's own factors, national policy factors have a significant positive correlation with the construction's own factors, and national policy factors have a significant positive correlation with the labor itself.Factors have a significant positive correlation, and the construction industry's own factors have a significant positive correlation with the labor's own factors. Finally, this article proposes countermeasures to address the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry in the context of rising labor costs in the construction industry at both the government and construction enterprise levels. The government should deepen the construction employment system, establish and improve vocational skills training and safety education training, and improve construction industry security System and promote the new industrialization of construction;construction enterprises should strengthen labor cost management, strengthen construction worker training, stabilize labor relations, and improve the level of mechanization and industrialization.
