Research On The Correlation Between The Cognitive Ability Of The Elderly And The Utility Of Intelligent Facilities In The Nursing Home

With the increasing aging population,the problem of how to provide for the aged is more and more prominent and has become the focus of the whole society.Sending the aged to the nursing home,as one of the three major methods to provide for the aged,greatly affects the living environment and quality of the elderly.The World Health Organization(WHO)first defines active aging as “the process of optimizing opportunities for health,participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age”,so it takes the "participation" as one of the important theory frameworks.Meanwhile,with the development of science and technology,the traditional way of providing care for the elderly has gradually changed,and how to provide for the aged has moved towards intelligent methods.This paper,taking Qinggang Elderly Care Center in Chongqing as an example,conducts field research using observation method,semi-questionnaire survey method and in-depth interview method,in an effort to investigate the existing nursing facilities.Based on the “participation” perspective of active ageing,this paper tries to investigate the influencing factors of the elderly's cognitive ability in the nursing home.According to the materials and some results of the survey,the SPSSAU20.0(statistical analysis tool software)analysis method was used to analyze the materials,including the basic structure of the elderly living in the nursing home,the education level,work experience,education experience and ability of using technology products,educational activities on the ability to use smart facilities,cognitive ability,and the way to participate in care center life,etc.,ultimately in an attempt to analyze the relation between the use of smart facilities in nursing home and the cognitive ability of the elderly.Consequently,reasonable suggestions can be put forward on the facilities configuration and service system of the elderly care centers in China.The research on the correlation between the cognitive ability of the elderly and the utility of intelligent facilities in the nursing home will further help to improve the quality and efficiency of the elderly care services and the planning and deployment of intelligent facilities.This paper first explains the background and significance of the research,and briefly summarizes the existing related research results,and introduces the content and methods of the research.Secondly,this paper tries to analyze the relation between influencing factors on the cognitive ability of the elderly and the "participation",and the relation between cognitive ability and the response of service.In addition,this paper also analyzes and summarizes the excellent cases of intelligent facilities deployment based on the framework of "participation" theory at home and abroad.Thirdly,according to investigation based on the elderly in Qinggang Center,we can generally get the basic materials of the correlation between the cognitive ability of the elderly and the utility of intelligent facilities in the Qinggang nursing home.Finally,the materials are analyzed by way of SPSSAU20.0(statistical analysis tool software).First,we analyzed the pattern of manifestation of the effect of intelligent facilities utility in Qinggang nursing home.The second is to analyze the influential factors of the cognitive ability of the elderly.The third is to give reasonable suggestions for the facility configuration and service system of the elderly's nursing home based on the analysis results.The research on the correlation between the cognitive ability of the elderly and the utility of intelligent facilities in the nursing home takes the elderly as the main part,uses the cognitive(learning)ability of the elderly as the starting point,and combines the “participation” perspective of active aging theory to analyze the effect of using intelligent facilities in nursing homes.With the direction of the development of intelligent technology,this paper tries to explore the configuration of intelligent facilities in nursing homes and further improve the methods and strategies related to the problem as to how to provide for the aged so that it can provide better theory for the practice of designing nursing homes(especially intelligent facilities for the elderly).What's more,it can also provide better ideas for the targeted solution of nursing homes in various places and regions.In terms of facility configuration,the special characteristics of local elderly nursing homes are fully considered.Through the investigation of the elderly in the nursing institutions,we get to know the actual needs of the elderly in their daily life so that we can truly serve the elderly.In the service system,through long-term data research,we accurately grasp the needs of the elderly.By way of regular propaganda and training,we can improve the elderly's awareness of using intelligent facilities,so as to better increase the elderly's initiative of participation.In a nutshell,the nursing home should not be regarded as “the mirthless house” any longer.We should focus on more happy and positive effects,so that the elderly can enjoy a happier life in the nursing home.
