Slow traffic has the characteristics of good mobility,green environmental protection,and can convenient transfer to public transportation,is the ideal.transportation mode of short distance travel.However,the proportion of urban motorization travel is increasing in recent years,the slow traffic travel space is constantly squeezed,and the slow traffic travel environment is deteriorating year by year.The investigation shows that the lack or discontinuity of special lanes in slow traffic network leads to the main problems such as unsafe and inconvenient of slow traffic travel,which is the primary reason hinder residents from choosing slow traffic.According to the key problems revealed in the investigation of slow traffic environment,this paper puts forward the significant aspect of improving the travel environment of slow traffic —connectivity,and on this basis studies the impact of the improvement of slow traffic travel environment on the travel behavior of slow traffic.Starting from the basic needs and current problems of slow traffic travel environment,this paper designs a questionnaire of the impact of travel environment on slow traffic travel behavior.The questionnaire obtained the residents' perception of slow traffic environment,and put forward the introduction of slow traffic lane on the specific roads to improve the slow traffic travel connectivity,investigated the preferences of residents' travel mode choice under different travel distance scenarios,and finally investigated the travellers' personal attributes and trip characteristics.According to the statistical analysis results of survey data,this paper analyzes the main influencing factors of slow traffic travel behavior,and selects the main factors such as travel time,travel cost,travel distance and transfer time to build the travel mode choice model.Firstly,a structural equation model(SEM)is constructed to study the impact of residents' perception of travel environment on the use of slow traffic,the perception of travel environment is divided into four latent varibles: perceived convenience,perceived security,perceived connectivity,perceived facilities completeness,each latent variable is measured by several measuring variables,combined with the latent variable of attitude towards slow traffic,bicycles ownership build the theoretical model.The path coefficients of structural equation model is fitted in AMOS,obtained the influence relations between varibles.The result of model analysis shows that: slow traffic use behavior is obviously affected by the perception of travel environment,in which the potential variables of perceived security and perceived connectivity have the strongest impact on slow traffic use behavior,perceived convenience inferior to them,and perceived facility completeness has the weakest impact.The measurement variables that have the strongest influence on perceived security and perceived connectivity are separately the isolation of slow traffic lane and motorway and the continuity of slow traffic lane.Next,this paper selects Dongwuyuan Road in Beijing as a case study to research the impact of slow traffic environment improvement on the commuting mode choice.In order to improve the connectivity of the slow traffic environment in this area,this paper improves the connectivity of slow traffic travel environment in the area by adding a special slow traffic lane on Dongwuyuan Road,builds a NL(nested logit)model of commuting mode choice,which considers the factors of travel time,travel cost,travel distance and transfer times,car and bicycle ownership.According to the results of parameter calibration,calculates the sharing rate of commuting mode before and after the setting of slow traffic lane on Dongwuyuan Road,and quantitatively analyzes the influence of slow lane's setting on the commuting structure of the residents near the Dongwuyuan Road in Beijing.The result of case analysis shows that the setting of slow traffic lane on Dongwuyuan Road effectively promotes the sharing rate of slow traffic,and promotes the sharing rate of subway under middle and long distance,reduces the sharing rate of car and bus.with the increasing of travel distance,the rising of slow traffic sharing rate becoming not significant,and also the decreasing of car sharing rate.At the end of this paper,gives the plan of setting slow traffic lane on Dongwuyuan Road in Beijing,and makes a comparative analysis of the schemes,finally puts forward the best setting scheme of half open design,using overpass and slow traffic phase to access Dongwuyuan Road at the north and south ends respectively.
