Accompanied by the severe background of population aging,relying on homebased care has not been able to meet the needs of the elderly for public service facilities,therefore,the reasonable evaluation of existing facilities has become a problem for the aging city.However,the elderly population density in the old city is the highest,and the living environment is not suitable to have leisure activities.New facilities is often neglected the space experience for the aged,there exist problems such as arbitrary selection,limited coverage and imperfect supporting.The advent of big data era has created a new model for the development of pension service industry towards scientific,intelligent and datamation.Through the application of big data,scholars have more conditions for the site selection and evaluation of public service facilities;Data processing and visualization through ArcGIS to achieve a quantitative expression of the behavior trend for the elderly and the demand of public service facilities.This paper takes the andingmen sub-district in the old city of Beijing as an example,to study elderly-oriented assessment of public service facilities.The study starts with leisure activities of the elderly,to explore the basic environmental elements needed in the place where the elderly’s behavior take place and construct an assessment method of elderly-oriented space.Based on the survey data and big data analysis,we obtain the distribution characteristics of the elderly-oriented space.Through related research summary,this paper puts forward the evaluation method of the old city public service facilities,three factors(multiplicity,sociability and walkability)are included.We further build GIS database,assign weights to facilities obtained from survey data,combine the travel distance of the elderly and use the basic environmental factors above as correction indicators,the spatial distribution of facilities is constructed and expressed visually by ArcGIS.By comparing the configuration indicators,we are able to evaluate and analyze public service facilities,thus provides the basis for the optimized allocation of public service facilities in the old city.
