With the proposal of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated strategy,the construction industry in small and middle-sized cities around Beijing and Tianjin in Hebei Province,achieve much more development opportunities but also face with more and more fierce competition.Therefore,recognizing the current situation and deficiency of the construction industry in the small and middle sized cities around Beijing and Tianjin area,grasping the opportunities brought by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration strategy,exerting the characteristics of the small and middle sized around Beijing and Tianjin,realizing the transformation of the construction production mode and narrowing the gap with Beijing and Tianjin need to be considered seriously in the small and middle sized around Beijing and Tianjin.This study conducted a field survey of small and medium-sized cities(e.g.Zhuozhou,Gaobeidian,Guan and Xianghe)around Beijing and Tianjin to conduct specific evaluation analysis.According to the two aspects of "competitive assets" and "competitive process" in the "international competitiveness equation",the present study used the improved AHP TOPSIS evaluation method combined with PCA(principal component analysis)to establish regional construction industry competitiveness indexes evaluation system.The evaluation system included 8 aspects : output value scale,industrial structure,construction enterprise strength,construction industry material consumption,construction industry output organization,construction industry development potential,construction enterprise production efficiency and construction industry economic benefit.The present study analyzed the insufficiency of the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)for calculating index weight,combined the principal component analysis(PCA)to improve the AHP,and figured out the comprehensive index weight.Finally,the study used the method of approaching the ideal point(TOPSIS)to compare the competitiveness of 4 small and medium-sized cities around Beijing and Tianjin with Beijing and Tianjin to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the construction industry in the small and medium-sized cities around Beijing and Tianjin,and put forward the reasonable suggestions for the future development of the construction industry in the small and medium-sized around Beijing and Tianjin.
