With the improvement of living standards,the demand for resident travel is increasing,and the contradiction between supply and demand of urban roads gradually appears.Due to the lack of foresight in road planning and design in small and medium-sized cities,the road cross-section resources in built-up areas are limited and cross-section resources allocation is irrational,resulting in frequent traffic congestion in recent years.The traffic characteristics of small and medium-sized cities are different from those of large cities.It is of practical significance to study the allocation method of road cross-section resources in small and medium-sized cities.The traffic data of Guilin was investigated as the representative of small and medium-sized cities.The traffic characteristics of road cross-section resources allocation of small and medium-sized cities were proposed.The key points were put forward,which made it clear that the following research should include the components of the road cross-section,travel structure optimization and the allocation method of road cross-section resources.By analyzing the components of the road cross-section,some suggestions for setting the basic components of the road cross-section of small and medium-sized cities were proposed,as well as other components such as exclusive bus lanes and on-street parking.Based on the idea of multi-objective optimization,the optimization model of travel structure of small and medium-sized cities was constructed,and the method for solving the weighted summation after normalization was proposed.By analyzing the relationship between the travel structure and road cross-section resources allocation,the road cross-section resource optimization allocation method based on a reasonable travel structure was proposed and the concrete allocation steps were expounded.The optimization model and allocation method were applied to the resource optimization of the road cross-section in Guilin.According to different road grades,the optimization allocation scheme of road cross-section resource in Guilin was put forward,and some policy measures were proposed to guarantee the implementation of it.The feasibility was verified by analyzing and evaluating the results of travel structure optimization and cross-section resources allocation.The research of road cross-section which on the planning and design level were going to provide the direction and basis for the adjustment of travel structure,data and theoretical support for the optimal allocation of road resources,and references for traffic planning decisions.
