The tea picking is a seasonal operation.With the large-scale implemented of tea picking mechanization in China,problems such as fresh leaves cannot be picked in time,roughly and indiscriminate picking have been greatly improved.The efficiency of tea picking machine is several times more than manual picking.On current market,self-propelled tea picker widespread used working principle is cutting,cutting the leaves at the same height of a certain position of the tea canopy.Although this kind machine is more efficient,It must be used in tea plantation which have more demanding management.such as the road surface should be neat,and the height of the tea canopy should be consistent.For those tea plantation which have less demanding management,seed sowing tea plantation and tea plantation located on the mountain,when this kind tea-picking machine works in the field,tea can not be picked or picked tea can not be used due to the unevenness of the tea tree.Tea's conformity picked by this machine is poor,it is difficult to meet the requirement of standardization of tea processing in the future.In order to reduce the number of tea which can not be picked,improve the tea plucking efficiency,the research optimized the design of the previously tea picking machine,integrated the automatic electrical control into the design,and developed a kind of profiling hand-held self-propelled tea picker by using the sensor and PLC.It can detect the height of tea canopy in real time and automatically adjust the position of the tool to ensure the best plunging depth and pick fresh leaves.This paper expounds the six design aspects of the profiling tea picker which are the walking mechanism,transmission mechanism,lifting mechanism,tea picking head,electric control system and operating device.The lifting mechanism adopts screw nut device,which can realize the rise and fall of the tea picking machine head.The combination of angle sensor and PLC enables the tea picking machine to detect the height of tea canopy to control the rise and fall of the tea picking machine head.In addition,in order to verify the applicability of profiling tea picker,the research take an tea plantation which have less demanding management as an experimental tea plantation,the mathematical method was used to verify based on the basic data of the experimental tea plantation whether the walking speed of the track chassis of the profiling tea picker matched it or not and whether the moving speed of the cutting tool was reasonable or not.Then the speed of the tool was kept unchanged,and the moving speed of the tool was increased to 30mm/s.For the optimization of the armor,this profiling tea picker adopted triangle streamline optimization and can avoid the branches of the tea tree which are not able to be picked.At the same time,thickness of the crawler chassis was lowered to 200mm,which increases the passing ability of the profiling tea picker in the tea plantation.In addition,the minimum tea garden requirement for using this profiling tea picker and some tea plantation renovation proposals were given in this paper.
