| The occurrence, place of occurrence and trapping techniques of the leaf chafer,Potosia brevitasis Lewis in different vineyards were studied from April 2017 to August 2018 in Turpan and Shaanxi. The major conclusions are as follows:1.The survey results of different varieties of vineyards showed that the P.brevitasis had the same pattern in different varieties of grapes, which occurred once a year, all appeared in the vineyards in early May,and slowly increased till the maximum and then dropped quickly. The maximum amount occurred at July or August when the grapes matured according to different varieties of grapes. The the adult chafers flied away after harvest the grapes.2.The results of the occurrence and regularity of the P.brevitasis in the growth period of different grape varieties showed that all grape varieties are mostly serious damaged by chafers and followed by the last time of the grape bud and then the young leaves. At the same time, the chafer also damaged the grape flower.3.The investigation results of the occurrence rules of P.brevitasis in the same soil and different soils showed that there was no significant difference in the time and quantity of P.brevitasis in the vineyards of three different soils, which occurred in early May and reached the maximum amount in mid-July,regardless of soil properties.4.Try a new operation of bait trapping technique to control the vineyard chafer. The proposed trapping formula is to mix the chlorpyrifos to the cut open watermelon evenly using different does, and it is environmentally friendly because it was not sprayed. The field test results show that the watermelon bait trapping and killing effect is consistent with the commonly used sweet and sour liquid trapping effect in the past.It can be widely used in the field to promote the application of the most cost-effective method applied 26% chlorpyrifos in the watermelon.5.This study aimed at a novel technique combined the lure with entomopathogenic fungus and biological pest control agent. The chafers was efficiently controlled by using a lure composed with Metarhizium anisopliae and matrine. This new technique could control the beetles using less bio-pesticides and might be useful to control other beetles that damaged the juicy fruits in maturity. It is expected that the technology will be extended to the control other insect pests to minimize the use of chemical pesticides to achieve bio-control of fruit borers. |
