On Translation Of Long English Sentences In Academic Religious Texts

Based on a comparative study of the English and Chinese languages and the author's translation practice of Malory Nye's Religion:The Basics,this thesis has a discussion about problems in translating long English sentences.The types of long English sentences are classified.In view of the differences between English and Chinese,a couple of suggestions and solutions are offered for translating long English sentences,with the prospect of a little contribution to translating academic texts.
