A Report On Translation Of Urban Poverty In Asia (Excerpts)

This is a report on English-Chinese translation of Urban Poverty in Asia(Chapter 7 and 8),which was published on Asian Development Bank official site in 2014 and printed in Philippines.Urban Poverty in Asia(Chapter 7 and 8)states the current situation of Asian urban poverty and proposes incentives adopted by Asian countries.Meanwhile,some constructive suggestions are put forward for China according to the development of Asian urban poverty.The translation project extracts chapter 7 and chapter 8,contents of which are Public Policy Responses to Urban Poverty:Selected Asian Economies and Asia’s Urban Poverty and What it May Mean for the People s Republic of China and ADB.Currently,global poverty is getting worse and Asian poverty holds the key.Urban poverty becomes obvious and attracts increasing attention because of the rural-urban migration,uneven income and other related reasons.It contains realistic significance to translate this urban poverty article.Based on text typology by Peter Newmark,translator analyzes the difficulties and gives corresponding solutions including paraphrasing,literal translation with explanation,division,restructuring etc,.Some lessons are summarized in the end of the translation report.This translation report consists of four chapters:introduction;translation preparation;translation difficulties and solutions;conclusion.This is a practical report with eyes on operations.
