Comparative Research Of Qin And Chu Characters With Different Structures In The Warring States Period Based On Pictograph Differences

Word alien phenomenon is a complicate social and cultural phenomenon,which was the product of both self-development and the externalities which cannot be accomplished by one action.Due the influences of several factors,such as social unrest,regional differences of thinking and etc.The word alien phenomenon is particularly outstanding in the Warring States period.The main manifestations are the different writing of characters due to the differences of stokes and positions of character's components and the diverse structure of characters for multitudinous phonetic structure and ideographic building.The different graphic shapes of writing of Qin and Chu is one of the most important parts of word alien phenomenon in the Warring States period.The different of shape-symbols which caused the diverse structure of characters of Qin's and Chu'swhich included abundant social and cultural information was really caught the attention.From the perspective of social and cultural,the different structure of characters of Qin's and Chu' is mainly because of the diverse social environment which also caused the different thinking of these people in this two states.That is to say the people in Qin and Chu have different ways of thinking because of regional differences so that their point of view about the same thing is usually different.Under the influences of different ways of thinking,their choice of Chinese characters' shape-symbols is based on their cognitive thinking mode,which usually ends up with different choice.The above is the main factors that lead to the different structure of characters of Qin's and Chu's.As the ideogram,using shape-symbols to express the idea is one of the main methods for Chinese characters.And the meaning and selection of shape-symbols is affected by people's mind,thus diverse structure of characters caused by the discrepancy of shape-symbols is another outward manifestation of regional differences in human mind,which allows us to analyze and research the diversity of character structure from the perspective of regional differences.This paper was design to compare the characters which recorded in 2008 version of Chu's Bamboo and Silk Text Editing,wrote by RenshengTeng and the 2012 version of Qin's Bamboo Scripts Text Editing,wrote by Yong Fang.This paper lists about a hundred sets of heterogeneous words of Qin's and Chu's which can be divided into four categories.First,the meaning is close but with different structure.Second,the structure is same but with different meaning.Third,the unbalanced choose of the shape-symbols.Finally,the characters which have nothing in common are also list.This paper is from the perspective of regional diversities of thoughtsto analyze the differences between Qin and Chu's text isomerism,which based the theories of the general use of synonymous character's form,the substitute of pictogram and the complex of meaning which promoted by Linyi He.
