As the country’s status in international community keeps growing,China has been actively participating in various international organizations, dialogues and conferences.ESG(Environmental,Social, and Governance)issues constitute essential parts in China’s sustainable development goal and therefore attracts attention from government departments and institutions, businesses groups, and social communities. This report is based on the translation of "PRI Climate Change Strategy Project:Discussion Paper".This report found that auxiliary texts played an important role in translation process, such as quoting previous translated texts to avoid repetitive work, using background texts to identify idiomatic expressions and proper nouns.Computer-assisted translation tools, including translation memories and terminology databases, are also introduced to improve the translation efficiency.Through process description and cases analysis, this report provides MTI students with practical and effective translation tools that can be applied when they deal with international organizations’ documents translations. The translated work aims to enrich Chinese materials about ESG issues and responsible investment,so as to enable more Chinese institutions and individuals to obtain a comprehensive understanding on these topics.
