A Report On The Translation Project Of Guests' Speeches In China-the Philippines Production Capacity And Investment Cooperation Forum

This report is based on the author's translation of the guest speeches during the preparation of the China-the Philippines Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum.During the internship at the foreign investment office of Development and Reform Commission of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2017,China-the Philippines Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum(hereinafter referred to as the forum)is part of the events of China-ASEAN International Production Capacity and Equipment Manufacturing Cooperation(hereinafter referred to as the events)which was held during the 14th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.The forum aims to provide a platform for communication and create opportunities for production capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation between China and the Philippines.The report is a translation project report on guests' speeches,which provides a brief introduction to the project,explains the importance of pre-translation preparation,describes the translation process of the project and the major difficulties encountered in translation.In the case analysis part,the author,under the guidance of the relevant theory,analyses typical translation cases in the speech,heading translation,the process of stream-structure sentences,and the translation of non-subject sentences.Through the analysis of the difficulties and cases in translation,the report points out that translators should have the ability to analyze the text and grasp the relationship between source language and target language.In the process of using Eugene Nida's functional equivalence translation theory,we should take into account the readers' feelings and express the original meaning directly and clearly in the target language to the maximum extent.At the same time,it should be noted that in translating such speeches,the expression of the technical terms in the text should be translated in international recognition or regionally agreed translation methods,and then,translators are required to use various translation techniques and methods to improve the quality of translation.
