A Comparative Study Of Sino-Vietnamese Words And Their Corresponding Words In Contemporary Chinese

Due to the special geographical location,the cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam remain a long history.While absorbing the advantages of Chinese language and culture,the Vietnamese created the Sino-Vietnamses words according to their own understanding and way of thinking.It can be assumed that the Sino-Vietnamses words are the result of cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam.Besides,after a long period of use,the Sino-Vietnamses words have also been affected by the social culture in Vietnam.Therefore,some Sino-Vietnamses words now are different from the original meaning of Chinese words,for which while learning Chinese,the Vietnamese students can not benefit from the Sino-Vietnamses words,and meet many obstacles caused by them.For Vietnamese who learn Chinese,the Sino-Vietnamses words are not new concepts because the status of Sino-Vietnamses words in Vietnamese is very important.In order to help Vietnamese students better understand Sino-Vietnamses words and its role in learning Chinese,the author chose "A comparative study of Sino-Vietnamese words and their corresponding words in contermporary Chinese---Taking Sino-Vietnamese words with syllable K as first letter of example"as postgraduate thesis topic.In this article,the author concretely compares and analyzes Sino-Vietnamses words of K-syllables in Vietnamese with contermporary Chinese counterparts,and then summarizes them to make it a systematic and logical analysis.The article consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 Introduction:This chapter mainly introduces the background and research significance of the topic,the research of the Sino-Vietnamses words,the research focus and difficulties as well as the main research methods.Chapter 2 The Origin and Classification of Sino-Vietnamses words:This chapter mainly studies the concept,the development process and classification of Sino-Vietnamses words.Chapter 3 It is a comparative analysis of the Sino-Vietnamses words with the first letter of K syllables and contermporary Chinese counterparts in modern Vietnamese:This chapter is the most important chapter in this paper.First of all,from the three dictionaries:Huyen Linh's Han-Viet Words Dictionary,Truong Van Gioi's Modern Vietnamese-Chinese Dictionary,and Phan Van Cac's Han-Viet Words Dictionary,all Han-Viet words with K syllables are collected.Then these words are compared with the corresponding words in contermporary Chinese(from the "Modern Chinese Dictionary"-seventh edition):including Sino-Vietnamses words and modern Chinese equivalents that are exactly the same,partly same,and the Sino-Vietnamese words and contermporary Chinese that are not corresponding.In addition,this paper uses the results of questionnaires to analyze Vietnamese students' understanding of Sino-Vietnamese words and how they use Sino-Vietnamese words to learn Chinese and how well they learn.Chapter 4:The influence of Sino-Vietnamese words on Vietnamese students learning Chinese and suggestions for them:This chapter mainly analyzes the reasons for the differences between Sino-Vietnamses words and contermporary Chinese counterparts.Starting from these reasons and the analysis results of the third chapter,we will study the influence of Sino-Vietnamses words on Vietnamese students who learn Chinese and put forward some effective suggestions for them.
