Compared to the early cultural exchanges of western to eastern which to be chanciness such as ancient traveler or missionaries in China,the western mass media BBC as the most influential contemporary world,its global audience in the wide dissemination of China theme humanities documentary in two aspects of consciousness,system can better demonstrate the intercultural communication in the context of cultural dialogue "The Self and The Other" debate.Based on the in-depth analysis on the theme,material grasping,narrative perspective and narrative tone,narrative framework and other aspects of more than a dozen BBC Chinese documentary since 2000,found that the western culture mode of thinking,the concept of value is how to influence and shape the REAL China in BBC documentary: The advocacy of individualism in Western cultural value resulted in the‘error of which BBC documentaries demonstrates macroscopical social issues by‘Layman Narrative;General stereotypes and cultural misreading make the social cultural phenomenon in many Chinese BBC documentary is placed in the "spectacle" and "exotic" situation;In the face of such China a narrative object,comprehensive cultural differences make different BBC documentaries present a same framework of moral evaluation,attributional inferences and so on.Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory plays a very important role in analyzing the differences between Chinese and Western cultures in creating the "BBC narration" dilemma of Chinese documentary films.As a practical problem,this paper puts forward the corresponding problem-solving ideas based on finding this dilemma,with a view to make cultural dialogue possible in a more rational and effective way,as intercultural communication becomes more frequent and routine.
