The thriving development of ambient media provides a wholly new information transmission platform for visual communication design,thus csting influence on people's social life and leading to changes in their way of information reception.The involvement of ambient media subverts the traditional concept and modes of thinking,and brings about new features of visual communication design,which is presented by a diversified development trend in terms of visual language and more means of information transmission.In this paper,basic theories of ambient media and visual communication design are elaborated,with a detailed analysis of differences between ambient media and other media and the organization of advantages and value of ambient media.Relations between ambient media and visual communication design will be taken as a breakthrough point to make an in-depth study on creative ideas and manifestation patterns of design presented by visual communication design under the influence of ambient media,which will thus help people make clear of development laws shared by ambient media and visual communication design and the point for integration.In this paper,metros in Shenyang are taken as the subject for the study on specific applications.The author puts forward design principles for metro advertising in Shenyang based on the site visit and a comprehensive analysis of metro environment and characteristics of media,and carries out an in-depth study on visual communication patterns adopted by metro adverting.The focus of this paper is put on the elaboration of relations between adverting and metro space environment,the analysis of surrounding conditions and media characteristics,the coordination of metro advertising media and environment,solutions to visual pollution caused by advertising,ways to promote visual communication effect,the accurately and effectively communication ofadverting message and so on.Based on photos of site visit and collected data,the author organizes features and existing problems of metro advertising in Shenyang,and puts forward creative recommendations and new ideas taking excellent advertising case at home as a reference,hoping to make it a reference for guiding the development of metro in Shenyang.This paper also makes a comprehensive study on the development trend of visual communication design under the influence of ambient media,hoping to provide a frontier research report for studies in this respect.The emergence of ambient media injects new vitality to visual communication design.And also it helps to constantly expand the influence of visual communication design to make people have a clear understanding of current changes of visual communication design and its development prospect,so as to provide it with a broader space for further development.It is a necessity for us to take the advantage of characteristics of various media to define differences among them in visual communication effect.Thus,we can draw on each other's merits and carry out a smart integration of design and media pattern and intensify the visual communication effect with various media to give a full play to visual communication design.Under the ambient media framework,the innovation of visual communication design requires a keen sense of observation to carefully observe surrounding environment of media and have an in-depth understanding of characteristics of media and products as well as sales techniques.Besides,it is a must to search for and find their integration point to determine the actual design.Furthermore,it is convinced that a people-oriented and humanized development road can be conducive to creating a good environment for the healthy growth of visual communication design,thereby promoting its harmonious development with urban environment.Since the visual communication design under the framework of ambient media is still in its rising stage,China needs to improve the relevant policies and laws to safeguard its quickly growth in an orderly environment.
