China's overall national strength rises,and with it,its international influence and the number of people learning Chinese language.To test the Chinese proficiency of non-native learners,Hanban of China launched the New Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi(HSK)in November 2009.As a brand-new and the most authoritative national standardization test,HSK has played a positive role in promoting the development of Chinese international education and providing internal motivation for the widespread dissemination of Chinese language in the international community.In the HSK Level 6 tests,a large number of questions are culture-related,which says a lot that language and culture are inextricably linked.In language tests,it is necessary to highlight language usage,but culture shall be the carrier.Therefore,in the Chinese proficiency tests,more emphasis is placed on the examination of cultural factors,especially in multiple dimensions.In general,cultural factors in HSK tests have become indispensable and inevitable elements of academic and research studies for Chinese learners or test takers.HSK covers multiple levels of tests,with Level 6 being the highest and hardest one but the least restrictions on vocabulary and Chinese characters make it most objective and pragmatic to test candidates' real proficiency.Taking 15 sets of HSK Level 6 test papers as the sample and taking into consideration previous scholars' experience and conclusions and current environment of Chinese as a foreign language,this paper analyzes the distributional features of the cultural factors in terms of the category,number and content of questions,thus to provide effective advice on the Chinese learners' preparation for preparatory exams and cultural teaching tasks.better development of HSK and innovation of Chinese international education.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction of the research background and significance,which systematically introduces the HSK test,defines the “culture” and “cultural classification” on the basis of existing academic opinions and conclusions,and introduces the research work involved.The second part makes statistics on cultural factors in HSK Level 6 tests and analyzes characteristics of questions presented in terms of category and the number of questions.The third part depicts the distribution of cultural factors in listening,reading and writing of the HSK-6,and further explores the potential law so as to draw a conclusion that is conducive to the test attendant.The fourth part is based on the analysis of cultural factors in the test of HSK-6,according to the analysis of cultural factors in previous sections,effective suggestions on exam preparation,answering skills and teaching are put forward.The last part is an epilogue,which summarizes the research of this paper and points out its deficiencies.
