Donggan is a ethnic groups which separates from the China Hui.Because of the war,they moved from Shanxi and Gansu province in China to Central Asia about a century ago,and most of them living in Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan now.Nowadays,the whole world is setting off an upsurge of learning Chinese.More and more international students choose to study Chinese and Chinese culture in China.At the same time,with the proposal of the Belt and Road conception,more Central Asian students include many Donggan students come to China to learning Chinese.In the learning process of Chinese,the learning of Chinese characters is the key,and it is even more difficult.However,for some international students,especially some Chinese learners who use alphabetic writing and come from Non-Chinese cultural circle,it is really hard to fully understand the features of Chinese characters.In the teaching process,a good Chinese teacher should not only teach students the basic Chinese character knowledge,but also train them to develop the habit of using effective method to learning Chinese characters.This paper choose the Donggan overseas students in primary stage as the research object,and research the Chinese characters learning strategies they use.By Issued1 uestionnaires,observed the class and the interviews after class,author investigated the details of how primary stage Donggan students used Chinese characters learning strategies.According to the survey results,author will give some suggestions to improve learning efficiency.In view of some problems in Donggan students' learning process,the corresponding teaching countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.We hope these suggestions can be helpful for Chinese characters teaching of Donggan students.This paper include five parts.The first part is introduction which mainly introducing the research background,research purposes,research significance and research methods.The second part is literature review which summarize the domestic and foreign literature of learning strategy,Chinese characters learning strategy and Chinese characters learning strategy of Central Asia students and Donggan students.The third part mainly introducing the design ideas of Chinese characters learning strategy questionnaire in this paper.The fourth part we research the sample and investigate the details of how primary stage Donggan students used Chinese characters learning strategies.The fifth part we give some suggestion for Donggan students 'improper use of Chinese characters learning strategies and then put forward the corresponding teaching countermeasures for their learning features.The sixth part is a summary of whole paper.Through reflection some disadvantages we cleared the direction of future efforts.
