A Report On The Translation Of Bloodlines:of Noble Blood

The report is based on the translation of Bloodlines: Of Noble Blood.This novella was published in 2017 and has no Chinese version.Fiberead Inc.,an Internet platform,publishes the translation project.Through recruiting of translators,the author is authorized by the platform to cooperate with another translator to complete the translation of the novel.Guided by Peter Newmark's Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation,translator completes the translation project smoothly by adopting corresponding translation strategies.The report contains four chapters.The first chapter is the task description,including the background information of the task,the introduction of the writer and the content as well as stylistic features of the novel.The second chapter is the process description,in which the pre-translation preparations,during-translation and the revision and embellishment are introduced.Pre-translation preparations include guiding theory and choice of the translation tool Ktrans;during-translation covers the use of Ktrans,difficulties and strategies in the translation process;and in the last part of this chapter,some cases are selected to illustrate the process of revision and embellishment.The third chapter,case analysis is the main part of this report.The author mainly analyzes typical cases from lexical,syntactic and textual level respectively to elaborate how the concrete strategies are used in the translation practice.The fourth chapter is the conclusion,in which the author summarizes her gains and losses in the translation task.
