This report is based on the on-site consecutive interpreting of the lecture on China-Canada educational joint program of Economics.It analyzes the author's performance in the task under the guidance of Gile's Effort Model.This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one is task description,which sheds light on the background information of the task,language features of the speaker and requirements raised by the entruster.Chapter Two briefly describes the interpreting process,including pre-interpreting preparations,on-site interpreting,review and reflection.Chapter Three introduces the conceptual framework of Gile's Effort Model and the Comprehension Equation.Under the Effort Model,the fourth part is a review of the interpreting process in terms of listening,comprehension,memory,note-taking as well as production,and also makes a discussion on the benefits of Gile's Effort Model to the quality of interpretation.The last chapter is conclusion,which summarizes the inspirations and lessons the author learned from the consecutive interpreting practice. |
