This report is based on the author's consecutive interpreting during the Fifth Shandong Youth Model United Nations Conference in Changyi,on August 8th,2017.The task consists of English-Chinese interpretation for the Chinese officials and Chinese-English interpretation for the foreign experts who attended the conference.The paper is to analyze the difficulties encountered and the corresponding interpreting strategies during the process.There are four chapters in the report.Chapter One is Task Description,which gives a brief description of the background information,introduction and requirements of the task.Chapter Two is about the interpreting process,consisting of preparation,on-site interpreting,feedback and assessment.The main part of this report,Chapter Three conducts a detailed analysis of those interpreting strategies applied in light of Peter Newmark's communicative translation theory and his summary of three language functions corresponding to different text types,which are frequently employed and are elaborated hereby.Chapter Four concludes gains and inefficiencies in the interpreting task.The author hopes this report can offer some reference for further practice.
