Interpretation Practice Report On Cosmos And Human

With the rapid development of science and technology and the acceleration of globalization,the works of popular science play an increasingly important role in popularizing scientific and technological knowledge so as to improve the scientific literacy of the public.Because the works of popular science have their special style,its interpretation should not only adhere to the general principles of “faithfulness” and“smoothness”,but also consider its scientific nature and popularity.This puts forward higher requirements for the interpretation of popular science works,and needs to seek reasonable theoretical direction and translation strategies for the interpretation of popular science works.This report discusses the consecutive interpreting simulation practice of science film Cosmos and Human.The practice has a certain scale(12,600 Chinese characters)and a time limit(10 days).Through the analysis of the case,the report discusses three questions about interpreting: how to ensure the quality and progress of interpretation through analysis and preparation of pre-interpretation;how to deal with the particularity of the language of popular science interpretation and how to apply the interpretation theory into practice.Through the analysis of interpretation tasks,background and characteristics,the interpreter puts forward the basic objectives of interpretation,and prepares and designs simulation links according to the characteristics of simulation practice.The interpreter pays attention to free translation,word interpretation,long sentence split and reorganization,idiom translation,and logic explicitation in the process of interpretation,and puts the interpretive theory to practice to ensure that the practical interpretation is more accurate and close to life.The interpretation practice suggests that interpreters need a profound encyclopedic knowledge to deal with such interpreting practice involving multiple areas.The combination of the interpretive theory and scientific interpretation is feasible.Short-term shorthand and rapid response is very important during interpreting.In the practical interpretation of some long sentences,interpreter can speed up note taking and summarize her own shorthand.The report is intended to provide some reference for such scientific video interpretation in the future.
