Travel news introducing tourism rules,events,services,technology or other related tourism information is an important way for people to understand travel messages,so the translation of the travel news is increasingly important and the translation quality is more critical.The growth of overseas tourists and the increase of information demand bring new challenges to the travel news translation and higher requests of it.The translation report is written after translating nine pieces of travel news.It analyzes translation cases in combination with Reiss' text typology theory.The translated texts are from travelweekly.com which is the website of U.S.national newspaper Travel Weekly.They are informative texts according to Reiss' text typology theory and the main textual function is conveying the information.They feature the characteristics of the authenticity,practicability and serviceability.In translating the informative text,the translator should apply the simple words to transmit the content of the source text,so the translation report analyzes translation methods such as linearity or conversion for travel news headlines,reverse or amplification for leads and division or explicitation for bodies to make the target text authentic and accurate.The full text consists of the introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction part briefly describes the background and significance of the translation practice and introduces the original text and Reiss' text typology theory.The main body is divided into three chapters.Chapter One,the task description,firstly explores features of travel news,followed by a detailed analysis of cases' linguistic characteristics and translation difficulties.Chapter Two simply represents three stages of translation practice,including the preparation before translation,translation procedure and proofreading.Chapter Three discusses translation methods applicable to news headlines,leads and bodies under the guidance of Reiss' text typology theory.The conclusion part concludes that translating informative texts of the travel news should follow the principles of the fidelity,accuracy and readability according to Reiss' text typology theory and at the same time,points shortcomings of this translation practice,providing the reference for the later practice research.
