Game teaching is a way of teaching English in primary English classroom.It can stimulate and activate students' interests in English learning,the students can master the language in the process of participating in the games,which can improve the students' English integrated applied abilities.However,there are some imperfections in the practice of game teaching,so that game teaching can not achieve the expected effect.Therefore,it is very necessary to analyze the problems existed in the primary English classroom teaching,and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.This study starts from the two theories of social constructivism model and input hypothesis,trying to answer:(1)What are the problems in the game teaching of Primary School English classroom?(2)What countermeasures and advice should be given for the problems in game teaching? Author uses observation method and case analysis to observe and research some game teaching cases in the Primary School English classroom.Four representative game teaching lessons were selected for analyzing among the collected games teaching cases.The author finds the following problems exist in the primary English classroom game teaching:the design of teaching game is not flexible;Deviations in game design;The game design is lack of real-life scenarios;Teachers attend to one thing and lose sight of another,so the discipline of the students are not good;Students are vague about the rules of the game;Improper arrangement of the teaching games.In response to the above issues,the author starts from social constructionist mo del and input assumptions to propose the following counter measures: The flexibili ty of teaching games.;The purpose of game design;The true pragmatic use of teachi ng games;The conversion of teachers' multi-role status;The demonstration of the rul es of the games;The integrity of the game teaching.After analyzing and researching by the author,this paper gives suggestions from the following four aspects: teacher,learners,learning environment,and game task,hoping to provide some suggestions for the practice of primary English classroom game teaching,and in order to improve the effect of game teaching in primary school E nglish classroom.
