Nowadays, the world sees frequent exchanges in almost every aspect such as economy, politics, culture, etc.,followed by the increasingly extension of the communicative function of interpreting. As the earliest and the most widely used form of interpreting, the importance of liaison interpreting speaks for itself. However, compared with the long history of practice, the research history of liaison interpreting did not thrive until the 1970 s in China, which manifested a severe deficiency in the research of liaison interpreting.Traditional interpreting view argues that the interpreter should strictly abide by the principle of neutrality, and he can only act as the conduit;qualified interpreters should be invisible and transparent. This point of view is,however, difficult to achieve in practical interpreting practice.Based on the status quo, this report adopts the interpreter's subjectivity as the entry point of studying liaison interpreting.Based on the author's own interpreting practice, this report first describes the whole interpreting process, then introduces relevant theories of interpreter's subjectivity.Under the guidance of these theories, the author employs different coping tactics such as addition, omission, adaption etc.to explore the exertion of interpreter's subjectivity in liaison interpreting. Finally in the conclusion, the author states her major findings and limitations,as well as suggestions for further interpreting research. The author finds that in actual interpreting activities, interpreters tend to be the only one who is able to know and use both languages, and thus they often play an indispensable role in communicative activities. In liaison interpreting, the content is highly unpredictable, which requires interpreters to respond flexibly, and give full play to the subjectivity to ensure the smooth conduct of communication.Interpreters should not only convey the discourse meaning of the parties, but also take appropriate coping tactics to exert a positive impact on communication activities.Based on her interpreting practice, the author hopes to improve the interpreters' understanding of the subjectivity;and provides reference for future research of interpreter's subjectivity.
