Color terms are colorful and contain rich metaphorical meanings.People often use color terms in the process of communication,which increases the vividness and figurativeness of communication expression.Color terms used in high frequency are an important part of vocabulary teaching in TCFL.Rich metaphorical meaning makes color terms a difficult part for students to learn Chinese.However,there are still many deficiencies about color terms teaching in TCFL.According to this,this paper bases on the contrast of the metaphorical meaning of Chinese and English color words,combines with the present situation of the teaching practice of color terms and carries out the targeted teaching design of Chinese color terms.It is hoped that the research and teaching in related fields will be complemented and beneficial.This article is divided into five parts:The first part puts forward the significance,thinking and methods of this project,and summarizes the research status of color terms at home and abroad.The second part mainly elaborates the theoretical basis of color terms research.The third part,from perspective of both qualitative and quantitative,compares and analyses the metaphorical meaning of the basic color words in Chinese and English,which finds that metaphorical meaning show the relationship of coincidence,difference,dislocation and translation.The fourth part analyzes the teaching status of color terms from two aspects of outline requirements and textbook arrangement,and finds that the deficiency of the color terms and their metaphorical meanings in TCFL.The fifth part,on the basis of the previous chapters,selects the basic color term "white" and the text "what color do you like" as teaching content for teaching design,and gives some teaching suggestions.On the basis of predecessors' studies,this paper,with the method of combining theory and practice,discusses the teaching of Chinese color terms,hoping to help Chinese learners undderstand and grasp the metaphorical meaning of Chinese basis color terms.
