Sense of taste is one of the essential concepts of human life.Chinese words“?????????”and Japanese words“???????????????”are the basic expressions of the concept of taste.In the process of development,the words“?????????”in the Chinese language,in addition to the basic meaning that sense of taste,have extended many new semantics and have been used by people in other conceptual fields.The same is true of the Japanese words"???????????????".However,in the vocabulary system of Chinese and Japanese,the semantic expansion of Chinese taste words and Japanese taste words is not the same.This article selects the basic taste words"?????????"in the Chinese vocabulary system and the basic taste words in the Japanese vocabulary system as"???????????????"as the object of study.By reading the Chinese and Japanese dictionary,the basic meanings of the Chinese and Japanese taste words in the reference book were sorted out,and the Chinese and Japanese corpus was searched and collected to sort out the corpus of Chinese and Japanese taste words in different semantics,so that the semantic contrastive analysis of basic taste words in Chinese and Japanese was performed.We found that the basic taste words in Chinese and Japanese are shifting to the sense of smell,touch,vision,hearing,and emotion.When expressing extended meanings,Chinese“?????”shifts from neutral meaning to negative meaning.“?”is still dominated by positive meaning in extended meanings,but Japanese taste words appear from neutral to negative.The shifting trend.Both Chinese and Japanese taste words have the feature of fuzziness,but the fuzziness of Japanese taste words is more obvious.In Chinese taste words,"?"has the strongest ability to construct words.In Japanese,"??"has the most change in word formation.On the basis of description and comparison of meaning items,the paper discusses the causes of the similarities and differences in the development process of Chinese and Japanese taste words from the aspects of cognition,language and culture.In the end,the author collected the errors that Japanese international students had when using Chinese taste words,and proposed corresponding teaching suggestions for the errors so as to make it possible for the Chinese language teaching in Japan to do its best.
